We were riding the gnome’s Magic Elevator down the cliffside, and I was polishin’ my runehammer when suddenly, two spiders decided that I was havin’ too much of a good time and yanked me up by my britches. I hate spiders, but I’m the one that decided ta live in the Underdark so it’s really my own doin’.
Gesh and Kildrak attempted ta save me, but their savin’ looks a lot like “tryin’ ta kill” and I almost fell off. Luckily we were able ta escape. The drow woman didn’t do much. Against her religion or somethin’.
When we had finally gotten down, there was some sorta floaty bridge thing across a vast chasm. We coulda kept goin’ down, but this was just too freaky ta ignore and we decided that we’d cross it. Soon as we set foot on it, I started gettin’ beat down by arrows from skeletons. Well, I don’t take too kindly ta that, so I did what any good Dwarf would do, charge the bastards! Kildrak and I were able ta beat them back, backed up by Gesh and the drow. The gnome was usin’ his flashy bang bangs and speakin’ too fast for me ta understand ‘im, but whatever he was doin’ was workin’ so I ain’t complainin’.
We had made it across a few bridges when some skeletal bats came at us! Now, I personally like killin’ skeletons. They’re already dead so the killin’ part’s easy. It’s the “them walkin’ ‘round and beatin’ ya” part that is the annoying one. Kildrak and I decided to mop up the archers (their arrows hurt) while the rest dealt with the big hammer skeleton and tha bats. One thing’s clear: Hammers work well against unprotected bones. I flew over to ‘em and beat ’em down, but I did lose a bit ’o blood. When we were done, the rest were moppin’ up the last bat.
I’m pretty pleased with how we’re doin’, but we got ’a ways to go.
