After the combat with the dire wolves, Griffo received a telepathic message from Mendis Falcon:
In old correspondence I found mention of a Tielfing mage from Tyrnn named Korivosh who may have knowledge of an ancient ritual to control kruthiks.
With camp broken, the party marched on toward the fey crossing soon realizing that two sets of footprints where going the same way as them. One set appeared to be that of a dwarf, the other of a larger man sized humanoid. The tracks led straight to the fey crossing where the party discovered the bodies of a dwarf and half-elf within the stone circle. They appeared to have been sucked dry of blood.
Eight stirges then attacked the party from the trees around the circle of stones. After fighting them off, Elisandra began the ritual to cross over into the Feywild. The party found quite a bit of loot on the bodies including a magical great axe on the dwarf and set of hide armor on the half-elf.
Part way through the ritual, Elisandra indicated that she felt a menacing presence on the other side and it may not be safe for her to cross over alone. She continued the ritual however.
As she was working through the final portion of the incantations two dark winged figures descended from the sky. Spined devils landed on the two rocky hilltops to the north and south of the circle of stones and demanded Elisandra. The battle was fierce as three imps revealed themselves during the fight. Two of them may have been the imps that had escaped from their infiltration of the Blue Boar Tavern when the party was guarding Elisandra there. But the party fought with as much grit and power as they had ever summoned and rather than holding off the attackers for the completion of the ceremony they slew all the devils before the ceremony would have finished. Elisandra paused the ritual to allow a short rest.
