It seems that Mort’s quick acting was able to quench any notice of the Storm Legion to their hates foes, kobolds and kruthiks. Also, the strangely long narrow hallways seemed to help dampen the sound…Griffo often wondered how these kobolds would rally for any type of invasion. Of course he was glad for the circumstances as the limited light offered from his everburning torch was just enough to keep the evil darkness at bay, he didn’t want to think about a kobold ambush as well. Luckily Abderus was leading so surely he would be eaten first. Soon enough these fears disappeared as Abderus was able to pick up the mutterings of some strange devilish language. He asked Zarn to approach to see if he could understand it but all he knew is that it seemed like some kind of ritual. Perion, overhearing their conversation, quipped that these walls must be dampening the senses of bigger folk saying that it was a ritual of domination.
This is all that Abderus needed to know. He could see koblods and mulling around and a group of krithik hatchlings entranced around a violet arcane flame. On the other side of flame was a tiefling…the source of chant. Knowing that their previous tactic would not work this time Abderus did what does best. He charged into room, the song ended, and some creatures had died at the sharp end of Abderus’s great axe. Soon the rest of the party joined him…but not after he had suffered some wounds. Perion grimaced at the work ahead of him. It also seemed that Perion had met his counter-part, as he saw a kobold heaving an insect filled net his way. Soon he was covered in all sorts of creepy crawlies; Perion shrieked in terror and started to bat away the things all over his body. The battle waxed and waned for some time, the party nearing the end of its resources. Another kobold dashed off down the corridor and it seemed like this time it would get away, but the party managed to take it down before it could give away their position. Once they had a little time to lick their wounds, Zarn mentioned that maybe they should have saved the tiefling instead of bashing her brains in. The rest of the party just laughed at his logic.
