Sleepy time! I crashed right behind a boulder for the night, I figured that would provide enough cover for the night from any raiding parties. Apparently my more diligent and reliable comrades spent more time preparing the campsite to hide it from enemy eyes. We made it through the night safely so we must assume that their preparations worked (ignore the post hoc fallacy here).
Continuing our journey to…well we don’t really know where we are going. The next day we encountered some fleeing settlers who abandoned their fields after they were burned by what appeared, based on the evidence we saw, to be a dragon. And off we went. I tried to argue reason. I tried to say, “maybe we shouldn’t just charge after a dragon with no idea where we are headed, what is out that way, how large the dragon is, etc, etc etc.)” but off we went anyway.
Not long after setting out in that direction we ran across some gigantic rifts in the earth, followed by an earthquake, and then 3 of the strangest looking beasts I have ever seen emerged from beneath our feet spraying rock on the entire party. I am told they are called bulettes, but they looked more like sharks to me…I’ll call them landsharks. They attacked our party, not the wisest move if you value your life. The battle was fierce at the start, but we eventually gained the upper hand and laid waste to the misplaced beasts.
