While resting Mort investigated some crinkling paper that he detected in the magical hide armor that he had taken from the half-elf. It was a letter on parchment paper:
I am truly distressed by your news from the Plane of Faerie . Due to our proximity to the forested lands of Arteuria, we have a keen interest in subduing any troubles in the feywild and preventing them from spilling over the boundaries into our own world, and as a friend and ally we have every reason to lend support. However, in these darkening times strong swords and hearts are more precious than ever and I cannot send a full contingent of the Khotham guard without knowing more about the situation that you face.
My trusted friends Rynrak and Phinnis will serve you well in the meantime. They are a stalwart pair and will no doubt help you to turn the tide back in your current troubles long enough for us to gather the swords needed should you require greater reinforcements. Phinnis will then report back to me with an update and we will deploy a force suitable to deal with your problems should it become necessary. Take heart, my friend. You are not alone in your struggle.
Once the party rested, Vash and Raggar insisted that they could not cross over to the other side with the rest of the party. Vash was concerned that now that Kalyxa Dramon had offspring loose in the forest that he needed to help to spread the warning and see what could be done to keep his allies of the forest safe. Now that Elisandra had reached the fey crossing, Raggar was intent on returning to Silvermont and to his congregation and continuing to deliver the will of Kord onto the orc tribes of the Valthune Mountains.
The rest of the party stood with Elisandra within the circle of stones and she finished the incantations of the ritual. The barrier between the First Work and the Feywild was warped by Elisandra’s ritual into a fleeting portal between the worlds and the party was transported to the parallel plane.
The party was then peering out through the doorway between two crumbling walls of an ancient fey ruin at a gnome bard who was being surrounded by a mob of goblins. A furious clash ensued between the goblins and the party with the gnome bard lending aid to his new found allies. Both Mort and Abderus went down during the fight but were then revived to finish off the foul lot, including a powerful hexer goblin whose curses confounded the party for much of the battle.
Once all the goblins were dispatched the party then spoke with the gnome they had fought beside.explained that goblins had been raiding the farms in the area, burning houses, plundering fields and destroying the remains. If things continue to go as they have been then much of the fey in the area will face starvation in the cold months.
Once they arrive at the walls of Wiadale however, Vorald is highly suspicious of the group. Although he knows Pirion he insists that because they are in a state of war, no outsiders can be trusted, even if they’ve helped slay some of the goblins. When confronted with the letter addressed to him Vorald asks, “How do I know you did not slay Phinnis and Rynrak yourselves and are delivering nothing but lies to us?!?”
