Exploits of Nicolas Hauxworth
What a splendid start to our adventure! Nothing gets the blood flowing like a near death battle with the infamous bulettes…such magnificant creatures. After the battle with a little investigation we determined that the strange earthquake was centered at this location. Perion was able the gather this from the strange arcane circle on the ground. He also noticed copious amounts of residum scattered about, such waste! Another unexpected surprise was the return of that Stormtooth fellow, apparently he found a Talon patrol. Though how he managed to catch up with us I am not sure, well in any manner he has returned and also agrees that battle with a dragon would be quite delightful.
As we continued our journey on these phantom steeds(excellent way to travel) eventually we came across a small river with a earthen dam holding back the majority of water. Too bad no crops will be nurished with this handiwork as it looks like the dam was damage in the quake, also the marauding dragon doesn’t help. I have to hand it to Eridan, he noticed some movemont in the trees across the small river. All temos of small talk with Kildrak’s diplomacy of “run amok and let’s see what happens”. Although what happened was truely unexpected.
A bear appeared and pushed a readied bolder into the damaged dam causing it to rupture and the water rushed forward knocking over over Kildrak. Next a group of gnolls appeared, some with spears and others with cruel bows. These damn gnolls…destroying all that is good in this world. It was a vicous battle, with the raging waters stopping most of the gnolls from crossing over. Though some of the bastards still managed to cross, doing their fair shake of damage to the group. It didn’t help that the archers were quite a good shot, luckily so was I. So it was with short work that I took out the archers while the rest of the party worked on the mangy dogs. Heck I even got a nicely placed parting shot as one of them attempted to run away. Quite nice work if I have to say so myself, though I think that old Stoneheart disagrees. Something about “no honor”, “evil”, and “cruelty”. No worries, less gnolls in this world the better I say.
