Having dealt with the initial welcoming party of troglodytes before they could unleash the wyverns on us, we were then left with the question of what to do with the wyverns. We couldn’t just leave them imprisoned to die, after all they were just dumb animals. While trying to come up with a plan Thangobrind decided to take up an interest in animal husbandry to go with his obsession with mechanical devices, and started to chop up dead troglodytes to feed the wyverns. He even tried to feed one by hand…turns out Thango isn’t that bright. Still, that inspired me to take the remains of the troglodytes out of the pyramid and lure the wyverns out after them, which went quite well.
As we started to move around the next corner the ever vigilant Mizr’setah heard some noises coming from a sealed room to our right. Well, with Adrik and me itching for a good fight we busted the door open and charged in hammers swinging…right into the putrid smell of a large troglodyte gathering.
After our initial blows, their leaders counter attacked quite strongly and Adrik and I bore the brunt of it. I used this battered and bloody state that I suddenly found myself in to my advantage and lured all but 1 of the troglodyte acolytes around me, thinking that they could overpower me, and swung my hammer in a great arc smashing all of them and taking 2 out. This set them up for an equally devastating blow from Thango that finished most of the rest off.
From there the fight got much more confusing as clouds of noxious thick fumes surrounded much of the room. In the chaos the troglodyte leaders were able to focus on Misr’ and deal her a blow that knocked her out and would have finished her off if not for Adrik’s quick action. As we worked to fell these brutish beasts we learned that killing them had serious consequences when two of the leaders burst forth a toxic sludge upon death.
Lets hope we can find the phylactery in this pyramid quickly so we can end this undead scourge and continue toward Deepreach.
