So here the Storm Legion was greeted, a young green dragon lazily looking at them atop one of the rocks surrounding the fey portal. The party did not have much time to settle into their surroundings before the young dragon began to speak.
It ask what their business was in the feywild, and if they had important business to attend to. Griffo, thinking himself a master manipulator, started a massive lie about how they received word from Perion that he was in trouble and came to his aid. Intrigued, the young dragon asked how they were able to communicate between planes and laughed at Griffo’s bluster about communication stones that lose their power after use. After this initial blunder Griffo was mostly ignored by the young dragon as Mort spilled the beans about their true reason for visiting the Darkthorn Forest and subsequently the Land of Fairy.
During this interrogation Abderus started sneaking away from the party, which was noticed immediately by the young dragon who warned him that his next step would be his last. Abderus grumbled but remained where he was. Throughout these talks with the young dragon it appeared that he was indeed offspring from Kalyxa Dramon and appeared to trying to find his own way to fund his hoard apart from his mother. When the party mentioned that they believe that kobolds were working with “another great dragon” Griffo was shocked that this youngling was so stupid that he didn’t know who they were talking about. But the green dragon didn’t appear too interested in the workings of other great beats, only his plans remained important. Soon enough though it appeared to this young dragon that these folk from the lesser races were not important enough to save, and he was hungry.
He swooped down from his rocky crag bellowing out a sickly green gas that burned and choked the Storm Legion, Griffo and Abderus seemed to shrug off the most damaging effects but the rest of the party held in place gasping for air. Trying to capitalize on his freedom Abderus rushed towards the crag, jumped up and managed to nick the dragon before falling to First Work. Griffo tried a new spell on the dragon but clearly he was having too much trouble with his new found power as for most of the battle couldn’t seem control his storm power as much as he has in the past. Mort shrugged off the choking gas which annoyed this young dragon but was not able to completely power through the hazy fog. Perion lose a song of great courage, the Storm Legion could tell that for every successful hit against their foe their will to fight would keep going on. Zarn unleashed his wizard’s fury nailing the green dragon again and again, and kept in the fight by Perion’s glorious song. After many attacks by the party green knew he had a fight on his hands, angered that his prey he let loose another gout of poisonous gas…this time much more effective than his last. He then attempted to claw at the party and beat a retreat back to his hidden layer. Alas this was not to happen as Abderus seeing his chance to do mighty deeds that Perion can sing about at inns and taverns across the land made a heroic jump with his axe slashing two mighty blows into the dragon’s hide. This did not bring down the beast, though his wounds were great and green ichor poured out of these fresh wounds and many others across his body. Zarn was the one to bring the beast down with blast of purple blue energy drawn from his fury. The dragon fell from the sky, crushing Abderus…but not enough to bring down this half-orc.After getting rid of the poisonous gas and tending to their wounds the party was still in shock…they had just killed a dragon. A young one perhaps but surly this is a good omen for an adventuring party as new as theirs. Zarn suggested that they should try to Kalyxa from finding the true killers of her son and suggested that they make it look like the work of The Great Gark. With the help of Perion’s knowledge goblin war totems the party dressed and took away parts of the dragon that a roaming goblin war tribe would. Perion then finished the task by invoking a ritual that would expel as message to the next dragon that comes near the corpse to fear the work of The Great Gark. After packing up their loot the party set off to Silvermont for some rest and to decide their next plan. Setting off from camp on the edge of the Darkthorn the Storm Legion was able to make it to Silvermont by early evening to friendly greetings, which Griffo mused with Perion that this is how it is done in the real world. Kethorn Fyormsin came down to great the party and asked if they wish to hold a council to hear of their exploits. The party agreed and soon the leaders of Silvermont, including Lord Ormend and Mendis Falcon, came to hear and see their friends and allies.
It appears that Silvermont did not have any more attacks since the party had left, and its defenses have increased. The miners have been harried by orcs over the past few days, more so than usual. Medis agreed to a sending ritual to contact his sage friend from Tyrrn and Lord Ormend would dispatch a messenger to Khotham so Advero Brial is aware of the current situation of Wiadale and his men.
With all of this decided the last thing to discuss is what our wayward heroes would do. There were many options for them to consider but it was ultimately decided that the kruthik were the most pressing and decided to pursue them. Thus the party returned to discussing a strategy with the town elders……
