The group had a tail. Gesh leapt on to the ceiling of some ruined apartments nearby, and the rest ran inside to hide it out. The four found a basement to retreat into, then found a passage to the sewers. Kildrak & Adrik smashed the obstruction, furthering their egress with Thangobrind. A simple illusion of a solid floor was no trouble for the gnome. M’zrisetah elected to hide in the basement- she would meet up with Gesh.
Gesh leapt to a higher perch nearby- the local base of their tail, the city watch. The sorcerer saw the duergar guards enter the ruins, and decided to create a diversion for the rest of the group. He lifted a beacon from the roof, and threw it on the back of a guard still standing on the street. He lost his tail and returned to the meeting spot first, followed by the sewer rat trio.
After meeting up, Thangobring and M’zri decided to gather information about the group’s goal- Forgehome. The pair descended into a lower echelon of the sunken city, and located Damien, an orphan who knew Huxley. He spoke only cockey rhyming slang- which the pair were hilariously inept at understanding. With their gold, they managed to meet an understanding.
Damien lead the pair to a sewer, rhymed & mimed that the teiflings go through here to go… somewhere else. The tunnel was easily large enough for a wagon to travel through. Mr. Nickleplenty suggested they withdraw, and M’zri followed his lead.
Kildrak and Gesh went to find Huxley, wandering the back alleys until they spotted the urchin. He ran at the sight of them. Kildrak caught the orphan child, who explained that no-one hand seen Damien since they had spoken to him- and then the pair let him run. Kildrak’s mission as one
headed for the sewers.
Oh, this stinks.
